Carol Körting è nata Bogotá in Colombia nel 1979. Si è trasferita in Germania nel 2003 e, dopo aver lavorato come fotografa freelance, ha studiato picture editing alla Ostkreuz Schule für Fotografie di Berlino.
Tra il 2009 e il 2010 ha collaborato come photo editor alle riviste Der Freitag e Zeit- Magazin a Berlino.
Nel 2011 ha iniziato a lavorare come photo editor e scout photographer per LFI, la rivista indipendente che pubblica i migliori fotografi Leica, e per M Magazine.
Carol è anche responsabile del programma di prestito Leica, il Leica M loan program, che concede in prestito macchine fotografiche a fotografi in tutto il mondo. Per LFI, ha lavorato anche all’organizzazione di workshops con fotografi come Matt Black, Matt Stuart e Jacob Aue Sobol, fra gli altri.
Carol svolge regolarmente letture portfolio in vari festival di fotografia internazionali, tra cui The Rencontres de la Photographie di Arles e Visa pour l’image a Perpignan.
Nel 2016 è stata invitata come curatrice alla 20 photographers convention di Veracruz in Messico, in collaborazione con il Cuatro Caminos Photography Museum.
Carol ha anche tenuto una talk sugli strumenti di auto-promozione alla VII Masterclass di Berlino nel 2017, ed è stata moderatrice per un’intervista con Charlotte Schmitz al F3- freiraum für fotografie di Berlino nel 2017.
Come lettrice di portfolio, è interessata principalmente alla visione di progetti di fotografia documentaria su questioni contemporanee e desidera incontrare fotografi che scattano, o sono interessati a testare fotocamere Leica M. Durante le letture è disponibile a fornire un proprio riscontro e ad aiutare nello sviluppo di progetti in progress, realizzati con qualsiasi tipo di fotocamera.
Carol Körting was born in 1979 in Bogotá, Colombia. She moved to Germany in 2003 and, after working as a freelance photographer, she studied picture editing at the Ostkreuz Schule für Fotografie in Berlin.
Between 2009 and 2010 she collaborated as a photo editor at Der Freitag and at Zeit-Magazin in Berlin.
In 2011 she started working as photo editor and scout photographer for LFI, the independent magazine which features the best Leica photographers, and the M Magazine.
Carol is also in charge of the Leica M loan program, which lends cameras to photographers worldwide. For LFI, she also worked on the organization of workshops with, among others: Matt Black, Matt Stuart, Jacob Aue Sobol.
She regularly reviews at various international photography festivals, including The Rencontres de la Photographie di Arles e Visa pour l’image a Perpignan.

As a portfolio reviewer she’s mostly interested in looking at documentary projects on contemporary issues and meeting photographers who shot with, or are keen to try, the Leica M-system cameras. During the reviews, she’s available to give her feedback and help developing photography projects already in progress, shot with any camera type.
