PhEST, festival internazionale di fotografia e arte a Monopoli, Italia, lancia la quinta edizione del contest internazionale, sul tema dell’edizione 2025 del festival: THIS IS US - A CAPSULE TO SPACE. Insieme a LensCulture e con il sostegno di Fujifilm Italia abbiamo organizzato una open call pop-up, gratuita e veloce, aperta a tutti ma per due sole settimane: dal 15 al 29 aprile 2025.

Dopo un’edizione 2024 dedicata al sogno, l’edizione 2025 di PhEST, in linea con il tema centrale del festival, invita artisti/e e fotografi/e a indagare il rapporto con il tempo, la memoria e il futuro, a immaginare cosa l’umanità dovrebbe inviare nello spazio come testimonianza della propria esistenza.

Cerchiamo progetti intensi, intimi e profondi, capaci di raccontare il nostro presente con uno sguardo al futuro. Si accetta ogni linguaggio visivo: fotografia, illustrazione, collage, animazione, video.

LE LINEE GUIDA

Dal 15/04/2025 al 29/04/25, puoi inviare i tuoi lavori qui:

Devi includere:

- Titolo del progetto

- Una breve descrizione del lavoro in inglese di massimo 200 parole (1200 caratteri con spazi)

.- Una brevissima biografia in inglese indicando il tuo luogo di residenza e età.

Se vuoi partecipare nella categoria SERIES (immagini fisse, illustrazioni, etc), dovrai inviare minimo 10, massimo 20 immagini. Il formato deve essere JPG, il lato lungo di ciascuna immagine dovrà essere di 2000 pixel.

Se invece vuoi inviarci un video o un’animazione (o altro tipo di file di immagine in movimento), scegli l’opzione di categoria SINGLES. Dovrai includere il link Vimeo o YouTube del tuo lavoro, nel campo dedicato. Non dimenticare di includere un’immagine di copertina del video (una immagine o un frame che rappresenta il lavoro): questo JPG o PNG deve essere di 2000 pixel sul lato lungo.

TERMINI E CONDIZIONI

Partecipando alla open call accetti i seguenti termini e dichiari:

– Di essere l’unico Autore, di detenere tutti i diritti delle immagini presentate e di possedere dei consensi necessari e relativi alla tua partecipazione. Come Autore, sei e rimani il possessore del copyright delle immagini che hai inviato al contest.

– Qualora il lavoro inviato dovesse contenere materiali non di proprietà dell’Autore e/o dovessero esserci delle persone ritratte nelle immagini, dichiari di essere responsabile di ottenere, prima di inviare le immagini alla open call, qualsiasi liberatoria e consenso d’uso necessario per permettere la pubblicazione, l’esibizione e l’uso delle immagini/opere senza alcun compenso addizionale. Qualora le persone ritratte fossero minorenni, in base alle leggi del loro luogo di residenza, dichiari di aver ottenuto per ciascuno dei soggetti minori la relativa liberatoria con la firma di un genitore o di chi ne fa le veci.

v Di concedere a PhEST il permesso di usare e pubblicare le immagini inviate intere o in parte su qualsiasi tipo di media, per il solo scopo di promuovere e annunciare la open call e la mostra al festival. Concedi inoltre a PhEST il diritto di uso e pubblicazione delle immagini al solo scopo di promozione e marketing della call attuale o futura su media cartacei e online nel mondo, senza compenso. Le immagini e il lavoro saranno sempre accompagnate dal credito dell’Autore.

PhEST è il festival internazionale di fotografia e arte a Monopoli, Italia. PhEST è prodotto e promosso dall’associazione culturale PhEST, con il sostegno della Regione Puglia e del Comune di Monopoli. PhEST è nato nel 2016 a Monopoli in Puglia da un’idea di Giovanni Troilo, direttore artistico del festival, e di Arianna Rinaldo, cui è affidata la curatela fotografica. Con la direzione organizzativa di Cinzia Negherbon. PhEST è fotografia, cinema, musica, arte, contaminazioni dal Mediterraneo. THIS IS US – A CAPSULE TO SPACE

PhEST, international festival of photography and art in Monopoli, Italy, launches the fifth edition of the international contest, on the theme of the 2025 edition of the festival: THIS IS US - A CAPSULE TO SPACE. Together with LensCulture and with the support of Fujifilm Italia, we organized a free and fast pop-up open call, open to all, for only two weeks: from 15th to 29th April 2025.

After a 2024 edition dedicated to the dream, the 2025 edition of PhEST invites artists and photographers to investigate our relationship with time, memory and the future, and to imagine what humanity should send into space as a testimony of its existence.

We are looking for work that is intense, intimate and profound, capable of telling our present with an eye to the future. All visual languages are welcome: photography, illustration, collage, animation, and video.

THE GUIDELINES

From April 15th, 2025 to April, 29th, 2025 you can upload your work here:

You need to include:

- Project title

- A brief description of the work in English (max 200 words or 1200 characters with space)

- Mini biography in English including your age and where you reside

If you apply for the SERIES category (still images, illustrations, etc), you must submit a minimum of 10 and maximum 20 images. Files must be JPGs, 2000 pixels on the long side.

For video or animation (or any moving image file), select the SINGLES category. You will need to include the Vimeo or YouTube link in the relevant field. Do not forget to include the cover image of the video (a selected still or image that represents the work): JPG or PNG format, 2000 pixels on the long side.

THE PRIZES

Five prizes will be awarded by the international jury:

An exhibition at the 2025 edition of PhEST (opening Aug. 8th, 2025)
An exhibition dedicated to a participant residing in Puglia, Italy, at the 2025 edition of PhEST (opening Aug. 8th, 2025)
A mirrorless FUJIFILM Camera X-T50 black /XC15-45mm Kit worth € 1.679 offered by Fujifilm Italia
A publication on PhMuseum’s platform for photography
A publication on LensCulture’s communication channels

Additionally, a selection of submissions will be projected during one of the opening night events at PhEST 2025.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By participating in the open call you accept the following terms and declare that:

– You, the Author, have all the necessary rights and consents concerning your submission, and you are the copyright owner of any works submitted. You remain the copyright owner of the images you submit to the open call.

– If the submitted works contain any materials that are not owned by the Author and/or if any persons appear in the photograph, you are responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the publication, exhibition and use of the images/works without additional compensation. If any person appearing in any photograph is under the age of majority in their place of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release.

– You grant PhEST the permission to use and publish the submitted images in whole or in part in any media form whatsoever, for the sole purpose of the promotion and announcement of the open call and festival exhibition. You also agree that PhEST will have the right to use and publish the images for the sole purpose of promotion and marketing of the current and future seasons of the Open Call on printed and online media worldwide, without compensation.

The images and the work will always be accompanied by the credit of the Author.

PhEST is the international photography and art festival in Monopoli, Italy. PhEST is produced and promoted by the PhEST cultural association, with the support of the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Monopoli. PhEST was born in 2016 in Monopoli in Puglia from an idea of Giovanni Troilo, artistic director of the festival, and Arianna Rinaldo, who is in charge of the photographic curatorship.
