Direttore creativo DER*LAB
Giornalista professionista e photo-consultant, Irene Alison è direttore creativo dello studio di progettazione fotografica DER*LAB, un team multidisciplinare che offre strumenti curatoriali a supporto della produzione fotografica, sviluppando progetti editoriali o espositivi per singoli o su committenza di istituzioni e aziende. Come redattrice, ha lavorato per il Manifesto e per D, La Repubblica delle Donne. Insieme ai fotografi, ha realizzato reportage apparsi su Geo France, The Independent, l’Espresso, D, XL, Marie Claire e Riders. I suoi articoli di critica fotografica sono regolarmente pubblicati da La Lettura de Il Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 ore e Pagina99. Collabora come tutor e consulente con alcune delle maggiori scuole di fotografia italiane e come curatore e giurato con i più prestigiosi festival e premi internazionali. Ha pubblicato due saggi di approfondimento fotografico, My generation (Postcart, 2012) e iRevolution (Postcart, 2014). Vive e lavora a Roma.
Professional journalist and photo-consultant, Irene is the creative director of DER*LAB. A consulting studio specialized in the field of documentary photography, DER*LAB offers curatorial tools in support of photographic production, developing projects in partnership with photographers or on commission for public institutions or private companies.
As a journalist, she worked for the Italian daily Il Manifesto and for D – La Repubblica delle Donne. Irene’s features on current international issues, developed in team with photographers, have been published in magazines such as Geo France, The Independent Magazine,L’Espresso,
D, XL, Marie Claire and Riders.
As a photography critic, she regularly contributes to leading Italian newspapers such as Il Sole 24 Ore, La Lettura (Il Corriere della Sera) and to Pagina99. She has been curator of exhibitions and editorial photography projects for national and international galleries and festivals. She is the author of two books, My Generation – Ten under 40 Talents of Italian documentary Photography (Postcart, 2012) and iRevolution, Notes Toward a History of Mobile Photography (Postcart, 2014).
