Per la prima volta in Italia due serie di Deanna Dikeman vengono presentate insieme. Leaving and Waving, l’emozionante serie di addii tra lei e i suoi defunti genitori, è unita a Relative Moments, che intreccia momenti di vita ordinaria nella zona centrale degli Stati Uniti.

Deanna Dikeman è nata a Sioux City, Iowa, USA, nel 1954. Ha fotografato la sua famiglia nel Midwest e dintorni dal 1985, quando ha lasciato un lavoro aziendale per provare un corso di fotografia. Ha conseguito un master e una laurea alla Purdue University. Ha ricevuto una Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship nel 1996 e la United States Artists Booth Fellowship nel 2008. A Photographer’s Parents Wave Farewell è stata una delle 25 migliori storie del 2020 nel New Yorker. Il suo libro Leaving and Waving è stato pubblicato da Chose Commune nel marzo 2021, dopo essere stato selezionato per il MACK 2020 First Book Award. Deanna risiede a Kansas City.
For the first time in Italy, two series by Deanna Dikeman are shown together. “Leaving and Waving”, the emotional series of goodbyes between her and her late parents, is united with “Relative Moments”, which weaves together moments of ordinary life in middle America.
Deanna Dikeman was born in Sioux City, Iowa, USA, in 1954. She has photographed her family in and around the Midwest since 1985, when she left a corporate job to try a photography class. He earned a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. He received an Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship in 1996 and the United States Artists Booth Fellowship in 2008. “A Photographer’s Parents Wave Farewell” was one of the 25 best stories of 2020 in the New Yorker. His book Leaving and Waving was published by Chose Commune in March 2021, after being shortlisted for the MACK 2020 First Book Award. Deanna lives in Kansas City.
