L’opera rappresenta un delicato monumento alle genti che, in ogni luogo e in ogni tempo della storia, hanno avvertito l’urgenza e il bisogno di migrare, abbandonare la propria terra in cerca di un destino ignoto. “La percezione – afferma l’artista – è quella di uno sconvolgimento dell’ordine sociale. Per alcuni, è l’alba di un mondo nuovo, all’insegna della fratellanza universale; per i più, è l’inizio di un’invasione”.
Nicola Genco (Putignano, Italia, 1959), illustratore, designer, pittore, scultore, fotografo, mostra da sempre grande interesse e attitudine alla manipolazione di numerosi materiali in grado di generare un rapporto sempre nuovo tra natura e artificio.
This work is a delicate monument to the people who, in every part of the world and at every point in time in History, have felt the urge and the need to migrate, to abandon their homeland in search of an unknown future. “The perception, as the artist explains, is that of a disturbance in the social order. For some, it represents the dawn of a new world, the sign of a universal fraternity; for most, it is the beginning of an invasion”.
Nicola Genco (Putignano, Italy, 1959), illustrator, graphic designer, painter, sculptor, photographer, has always shown a deep interest in, and aptitude for manipulating different materials in order to create a continuously renewed relationship between the natural and the artificial.
