“Ero alla ricerca un posto dove poter osservare gli esseri umani come se fossero al microscopio. La spiaggia è forse l’unico luogo in cui è possibile trovare persone che volontariamente si mettono “sotto anestesia” e sul tavolo per essere analizzate come macchine smontate da osservatori (vale a dire noi) che galleggiano sopra di loro. È un’ottima occasione per approfondire la cultura e le abitudini naturali odierne perfettamente rivelate in dettagli rintracciabili in queste immagini”.

Tadao Cern (Lituania, 1983) attualmente vive e lavora a Vilnius. Ha conseguito la laurea e il master presso la Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, laureandosi nel 2009. Dopo un anno di lavoro come architetto freelance, Tadao ha deciso di intraprendere una nuova occupazione, la fotografia, e successivamente di cimentarsi anche con altri media artistici.

“I was looking for a place where I could observe human beings as if they were under the microscope. The beach is almost the only place where you can find people voluntarily putting themselves under ‘anesthesia’ and on the table where they can be explored like disassembled machines by the observers (us) floating above them. It’s a great chance to deep dive into today’s culture and natural habits that are perfectly revealed in the details that you can find in these images”.

Tadao Cern (Lithuania, 1983) currently lives and works in Vilnius. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, graduating in 2009. After a year of working as a freelance architect, Tadao decided to pursue a new occupation, photography, and today he’s focusing on contemporary art and his current project, “Black Balloons”.
