EVICTION
Dal 2020, gli attivisti ambientalisti hanno occupato gli alberi, i campi e le case a Lützerath, una frazione vicino alla città di Erkelenz, nella Renania settentrionale-Vestfalia. Si oppongono allo sgombero del villaggio e alla compagnia energetica RWE, che vuole estrarre i milioni di tonnellate di lignite che giacciono sotto il loess (ndr. tipo di roccia sedimentaria) di Lützerath. Eviction documentata il passaggio del paese da luogo di utopie e sogni a fortezza di un’azienda energetica. Una fortezza difesa con spray al peperoncino, manganelli e cannoni ad acqua contro gli attivisti del movimento per il clima.

Ingmar Björn Nolting (Germania, 1995) vive e lavora come fotografo freelance a Lipsia, in Germania. Ha studiato fotografia alla Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts ed è uno dei membri fondatori del collettivo DOCKS. I progetti a lungo termine di Ingmar hanno ricevuto premi nazionali e internazionali come il Getty Reportage Grant, il World Report Award e un VG Bildkunst Grant.
Since 2020, environmental activists have occupied the trees, fields and houses in Lützerath, a hamlet near the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Erkelenz. They oppose the eviction of the village, and the energy company RWE, which wants to extract the millions of tons of lignite that lie beneath the loess soils of Lützerath. “Eviction” documents the transition of the town from a place of utopia and dreams to the fortress of an energy company, defended with pepper spray, batons and water cannons against activists of the climate movement.

Ingmar Björn Nolting (Germany, 1995) lives and works as a freelance photographer in Leipzig, Germany. He studied photography at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and he is a founding member of the DOCKS collective. Ingmar's long-term projects have been awarded national and international prizes such as the Getty Reportage Grant, World Report Award and a VG Bildkunst Grant.
