Nella serie fotografica Motherland, Tanya Tkachova si immerge nel microcosmo della sua casa di famiglia in Bielorussia. In questo lavoro molto personale, documenta la vita di sua madre nella casa familiare. I temi che la affascinano sono i rapporti tra le generazioni, cosa significa essere madre, e perché i ricordi dell’infanzia influiscono sul resto della nostra vita.
Tanya Tkachova (Krasnopolye, Bielorussia, 1987) attualmente vive ad Amburgo, Germania. La maggior parte delle sue attività professionali è dedicata ai progetti personali a lungo termine. Con un approccio fotografico intimo, esplora questioni sociali contemporanee, soprattutto dell’Europa dell’Est.
In the photo series "Motherland", the photographer Tanya Tkachova immerses herself in the microcosm of her family home in Belarus. In this very personal work, she documents her mother's life in her family home. The topics that fascinate her are the relationship between generations, what it means to be a mother, and why childhood memories influence us our whole life.
Tanya Tkachova (Krasnopolye, Bielorussia, 1987) is currently based in Hamburg, Germany. The most important part of her professional activities is devoted to personal, long-term projects. With an intimate photographic approach, she explores contemporary social issues mostly in Eastern Europe.
