Il risultato è un calendario visivo oggi composto da oltre 2.500 fotografie. Se Weathering Time racconta la mia giovinezza fino all’inizio della mia età matura, le immagini riflettono anche le esperienze della mia generazione e sottolineano i cambiamenti culturali, tecnologici e fisici che si sono verificati negli ultimi trentanove anni.”

Nancy Floyd (Minnesota, 1956) è un’artista visiva da oltre 40 anni. I suoi interessi includono l’invecchiamento del corpo femminile, il passare del tempo e il nostro rapporto con l’ambiente. Usa la fotografia e il video per affrontare i modi in cui l’immagine può connettersi profondamente con l’esperienza e la memoria.
“What started out as a simple question in 1982 became the reason to start what would become “Weathering Time”: “What would it be like to photograph myself every day and watch myself grow older?” I was twenty-five years old at the time…
The resulting visual calendar now consists of more than 2,500 photographs.
While “Weathering Time” chronicles my youth to the dawn of my old age, the images also reflect the experiences of my generation and underscore the cultural, technological, and physical changes that have occurred over the past thirty-nine years.”

Nancy Floyd (Minnesota, 1956) has been a visual artist for 40 years. Her interests include the aging female body, the passage of time, and our relationship with the environment. She uses photography and video to address the ways in which lens-based media can connect deeply with experience and memory.
